Everywhere in the world there are public holidays that are marked as holidays in order to respect a particular saint or to mark the beginning of any event. Every country has their own set of holidays and dates of holidays vary from one region to another. For example the holiday dates of India would totally differ from the holiday dates of France or Germany. There are many popular German holidays and the dates are normally fixed and sometimes they vary depending upon the circumstances. The German holidays are generally catholic, regional or protestant celebration. There are specific dates and some festival dates are not fixed and may differ from region to region.

 There are German holidays right from the month of January to the end of the year. The year begins with New Year day and that is the 1st of January, and then it is epiphany that is on the 6th of this month. In the month of February there is Candlemas on the 2nd February, valentine day on the 14th, and Mardi gras carnival whose date is not fixed and it may happen in February or march depending upon Easter. The German holidays in the month of March are day of the ill on the 1st of March, international women's day on the 8th, st, Joseph day on the 19th, and annunciation on the 25 of this month. In the month of April there is April's fool's day on the 1st, good day is on the Friday after Easter, Easter in the month of April or March and lastly is the walpurgi's night on the 30th April.

 Then comes the month of May and the German holidays in this month are lab our day on the 1st, mother's day is on the second Sunday in this month. Then comes June with the father's day on the 12th of June or second Sunday of this month, st john the bapist day on the 24th of June, st swithin's day on the 27th of June. In July there is the commemorative day of the assassination attack on Hitler in 1944 is observed on 20th July. The German holidays in the month of August are Swiss national day on the 1st, assumption on the 15th. In September there is feast of st Michael on 29th September, then there is oktober feast that is celebrated in the last week of September. Then there is German thanksgiving in the end of this month.

 There are few German holidays in the month of November and there is all saints day on the 1st and all souls day on the 2nd of this month. Lastly is the martimas on the 11th of this month. The month of December has many German holidays and it starts with the st Nicholas day on the 6th of December, Christmas Eve on the 24th, Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December, Christmas 2nd day on the 26th and lastly is the New Year day celebration on the 31st.
